Privacy policy of BowlingMaat

BowlingMaat processes personal data of visitors and customers of bowlingmaat.nl because they use our services and/or because they provide this data to us themselves.

Depending on how you use bowlingmaat.nl, we may process the following data: first and last name, contact details such as your email address and phone number, address details, data you enter in a contact or order form, and technical data such as your IP address and browsing behaviour.

We do not process more data than is necessary for the purposes described below (data minimisation).

BowlingMaat processes your personal data for the following purposes: handling your question or order, performing an agreement, sending information you have requested, and improving our website and services.

We only process data on the basis of a valid legal ground under the GDPR: the performance of an agreement, a legal obligation, your consent, or our legitimate interest after a careful balancing of interests.

If you provide data on the basis of consent, you can withdraw that consent at any time.

BowlingMaat does not sell your data to third parties and only shares it when this is necessary to perform our agreement with you or to comply with a legal obligation.

With parties that process your data on our behalf (such as our hosting provider, email provider and payment service) we conclude a data processing agreement to guarantee the same level of security and confidentiality.

BowlingMaat remains responsible for these processing activities.

When you scan or add a photo of a bowling scoreboard, BowlingMaat stores the photo privately, together with the scores read from it, so the scores of that game can be checked against it. Only you, the creator of the series and the admins of the game or league can see it. We do this to perform our agreement with you.

To read the scores from a photo you scan, the photo is sent to an external AI service (currently Anthropic or Google Gemini), which processes it on our behalf.

A scoreboard can show the names of other bowlers and sometimes people in the background. Please only photograph the scoreboard.

Only when you allow it in your account settings, we also use your photos and the scores read from them to train and improve our scoreboard scanner. This applies to photos added while you allow it. You can withdraw this consent at any time in the same place, after which your photos are no longer used for this.

A photo is kept as long as the game it belongs to, and is deleted when you remove it or when the game is deleted.

bowlingmaat.nl uses functional and analytical cookies. Functional cookies are necessary for the website to work and are placed without consent.

Before placing tracking or marketing cookies, we ask for your consent in advance, in accordance with Article 11.7a of the Dutch Telecommunications Act.

You can manage or delete cookies at any time through your browser settings.

BowlingMaat does not keep your personal data for longer than strictly necessary to achieve the purposes for which your data is collected.

For data with a tax or administrative retention obligation, we apply the statutory period of seven years.

Data you have provided on the basis of consent is kept until you withdraw that consent, or no longer than necessary for the purpose.

BowlingMaat takes the protection of your data seriously and takes appropriate technical and organisational measures to prevent misuse, loss, unauthorised access and unwanted disclosure.

Our website uses a secure connection (TLS/SSL) and access to data is limited to authorised persons.

You have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data. You also have the right to object to the processing, the right to restriction of processing and the right to data portability.

You can send a request for access, correction, deletion or transfer to [email protected]. BowlingMaat will respond as soon as possible, and no later than within four weeks.

To make sure the request was made by you, we may ask you for additional identification.

BowlingMaat would like to point out that you can lodge a complaint with the national supervisory authority, the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens). You can do so via autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl.

To handle orders, BowlingMaat processes name, address and order details. Payments are made through an external, certified payment service provider (PSP).

We do not store full credit card or bank details ourselves. The payment service processes this data under the applicable security standards.

BowlingMaat reserves the right to change this privacy policy. Changes are published on bowlingmaat.nl.
